DIY Linen Spray and Pillow Spray using Essential Oils

,

Making your own essential oil spray is a great way to naturally freshen your linens, sheets, pillows, or just the air in your home. With a couple basic ingredients and natural scents, you to cut back on harmful chemicals in your home, cost, and packaging waste. Plus it is fast, easy to create, and the scent combinations are endless!

Today I’m sharing my favorite herbaceous blend for freshening towels and linens along with a great pillow spray that also encourages a restful night of sleep. These recipes only use 3 ingredients – witch hazel, distilled water, and essential oils.

Witch Hazel allows the essential oils and distilled water to mix. It also helps the scent linger in the air for longer. You could also use rubbing alcohol or vodka. Distilled water eliminates any minerals or contaminates that might be in other water sources.

I use top quality pure essential oils to get the most of their aromatherapy benefits. If you are just beginning with essential oils and aren’t sure where to find pure ones, check out my basic guide for information on what to look for.

I always use a glass spray bottle for my eo sprays. Some essential oils can corrode plastic over time. I find the glass bottles are easier to clean and reuse too. I use amber or cobalt colored glass to protect my spray from direct sunlight.
