Each quarter I share what I’ve read from the past 3 months that is available in Kindle Unlimited along with the 20 titles that I currently have checked out.
Not only does this allow me to share KU recommendations, it also keeps me grabbing fresh Kindle Unlimited titles to try.

My Kindle Unlimited Goal
Since starting my love affair with KU (and a 2 year subscription) back in May, my goal is to read at least 3 Kindle Unlimited titles each month.
Currently I remain a little bit ahead on this goal. Which is always nice because there are bound to be some months where I read less from KU because I’m reading more from my library.
I’m at 33 books read on Kindle Unlimited since June of 2023.
A New Reading Goal Already for 2024
My last post touched on my newest reading goal for 2024 – to read more diversely.
To help me meet this goal, I will be intentionally checking out BIPOC authors, LGBTQIA+ authors, and books that contain neurodiverse, mental health, chronic illness, and disability representation through KU.
Within my regular Kindle Unlimited feature, I’m aiming to check out at least 6-8 diverse authors each quarter when I share these.
What’s in My Kindle Unlimited Library this January?
I actually have nine diverse authors checked out this month. The remaining selection are books from my winter TBR that I haven’t read yet and second books in series I want to continue.
Drag Me Up by R.M. Virtues
R.M. Virtues is one of many diverse authors I heard about from Heather at Hea Booktubes in her diverse romance recommendations video.
After dabbling in Katee Robert’s Dark Olympus series over the years, I’m really excited to check out the Gods of Hunger series – also Greek god retellings.
Virtues is a Black trans male author and the first book in the series, Drag Me Up, has trans representation.
The Alpha’s Affair by Dria Andersen
Dria Andersen is another author shared by Heather at Hea Booktubes in her diverse romance recommendations video.
Andersen is a Black author whose work is described as paranormal with a cozy feel and relatively low conflict. Which sounds perfect for this season.
I’m going against my grain and starting with book 2 of a series since that’s the title that was recommended. Her novella One Night, One Bite has gotten a lot of love from reviewers and is also available on KU.
Broken Trust by M. Malone and Nana Malone
M. Malone is a Black author recommended by Steph’s Romance Book Talk in a video sharing Black authors on Kindle Unlimited.
When I went to search KU for M. Malone, this was the only series that popped up. It is written with Nana Malone. I was confused at first since these authors have the same last name but this is a writing duo. Nana Malone is another new to me Black author who was put on my radar years ago thanks to the Shelf Love Podcast.
So with this book, I hope I can get a taste of both author’s writing. I was sold on the romantic suspense element and the best friend’s little sister trope. I can’t wait to give it a try!
The Fixer by Jessica Gadziala
Jessica Gadziala is another author recommended by Heather at Hea Booktubes in her diverse romance recs video.
Gadziala writes a lot about chronic illness and mental health especially anxiety. Her backlist is enormous and mostly available on KU. I believe she has a lot of interconnected series – something I love!
I chose this title as my entry point but there are several other starting points too. If you’re curious, check out Heather’s Guide to Jessica Gadziala.
Something Fabulous by Alexis Hall
I previously read and loved A Lady for a Duke by Alexis Hall (4 stars) so I’m excited to read another book from this author.
Something Fabulous is a m/m historical romance. It is currently available as a read and listen option on KU.
I Think I Might Love You by Christina C. Jones
Christina C. Jones is a Black author who specifically writes Black love or Black romance, meaning the story features a Black couple.
I was reminded of this author thanks to Hea Booktubes and decided to start with this title when Steph’s Romance Book Talk recommended it.
I have also watched a few of Christina C. Jones’s YouTube videos about the author side of Kindle Unlimited and thought they were fascinating!
Twisted Love by Ana Huang
Ana Huang, an Asian American author, is recommended everywhere and was on my authors to try list all of last year.
I think what has held me back is I don’t love billionaire romance and I’m not that intrigued by new adult. She gets so much love though.
I’m starting with Twisted Love. Also the sexy man covers don’t look new adult to me lol. This is another brother’s best friend or best friend’s sister and the blurb says it has a touch of suspense. Fingers crossed!
Let Me Love You by Alexandria House
The last author recommendation for now from both Hea Booktubes and Steph’s Romance Book Talk is Alexandria House.
She doesn’t have a ton of Kindle Unlimited titles available right now but I’ve seen a lot of love for her McClain Brothers series on booktube so I’m starting with Let Me Love You to see how I like her writing.
This one features single parents which I’m finding I have a soft spot for. I’ve heard her books are very spicy too.
P.S. You’re Intolerable by Julia Wolf
I checked this one out strictly because it was Jenn at The Book Refuge’s top book of last year.
Julia Wolf is an author who has been on my radar to try thanks to Jenn.
This is an office romance that begins with a surprise pregnancy and the hero is not the father.
Out On a Limb by Hannah Bonam-Young
There was a lot of love for this book last year. I’ve been curious about this author for awhile since her book, Next of Kin, was raved about on bookstagram.
As I shared in my reading goal update, for me reading diversely covers a wide umbrella of diversity. Out On a Limb is own voices for a congenital limb difference and I believe it also features a main character who is an amputee.
Unicorn Shifter Academy by J.R. Thorn
I checked this out purely for the Once Upon a Readathon Icelands edition. Maggie from Maggie’s Books and Stuff put this one on my radar in her rec video for the readathon.
I’m on Team Unicorn and we get bonus points for reading a book with our mascot featured on the cover or in the story.
We’ll see if I get to this one before the readathon ends.
Here With Me by Samantha Young
Samantha Young is a new to me author.
I heard about both her and Catherine Cowles around the same time and have been curious about her romantic suspense series set in Scotland. I think there are a few interconnected series but I opted to start here with the Adair Family.
This title is on my winter TBR under the romantic suspense category. The audiobook is also available on Hoopla through my library so we’ll see which format I choose.
Storm by Carian Cole
Another new to me author and a title from my winter TBR. I’ve heard this is a rock star romance but begins with a snowed in scenario so I added it for a snowy setting.
I’ve been curious about Carian Cole for awhile but nervous to try some of her other books that feature a large age gap where the hero knew the heroine as a child and she recently turned 18.
My library also has the audio version of this book.
Daughter of No Worlds by Carissa Broadbent
Daughter of No Worlds is on my winter TBR as my attempt to venture in fantasy romance. I’ve heard so many amazing things about Carissa Broadbent’s work.
I also have access to the audio version of this book through my library.
Don’t Hex and Drive by Juliette Cross
I adored reading Wolf Gone Wild (5 stars) last October. It made my best books of 2023.
This is the second book in Cross’s Stay a Spell series and I was so excited to continue with it, I had to add it to my winter TBR.
I loved the large family, the magic, and the cozy vibes in the first book. I’m hoping Cross’s unique style of meshing steam with relationship development continues with the next installment.
Ever Mine by Laura Pavlov
Laura Pavlov’s Honey Mountain series is another one I couldn’t wait to continue! After loving Always Mine (5 stars) last November, I added the second book in the series to my winter TBR.
There’s a theme here of me loving series that feature large families. I’m also hoping there will be a touch of hockey in this one. These covers are so gorgeous!
Falling Embers by Catherine Cowles
I loved reading Tattered Stars (4.5 stars) with A Dose of Romance Book Club this month.
I immediately downloaded the next book in the series though I don’t know when I’ll get to it.
The Right Move by Liz Tomforde
This made a ton of people’s best of 2023 list.
I didn’t love Mile High (3 stars) when I read it last year but I am intrigued by both these main characters.
The audio version recently became available on Hoopla through my library. I find that’s an important accompaniment for these super long KU books.
Claimed by the Horde King by Zoey Draven
After giving Captive of the Horde King 6 stars last October, I’m highly anticipating continuing Draven’s Horde Kings of Dakkar series!
There Is No Devil By Sophie Lark
I read the first book, There Are No Saints (4 stars), in this duet last November and I still have the second one ready to go in my KU library. I actually read the first chapter or so in December but then had to set it aside for prioritized reads.
