Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! Essential oils are a wonderful way to naturally create a romantic atmosphere, whether by diffusing sexy scents or making a homemade massage oil. Today I’m sharing 4 of my favorite essential oil diffuser blends to set the mood.
These diffuser combinations are for my 120mL diffuser so adjust accordingly for your own. A good guideline is to start with 3 to 5 drops of oil per 100mL of water. It’s always easier to start on the lighter side and add more drops of essential oil if needed. Consider the size of the room you’re diffusing in and who will be in it. We live in a tiny space so a little goes a long way.
Something to Keep in Mind: Diffusing essential oils is one of the safest ways to use them but always be cautious when diffusing around children, pets, and those with asthma or allergies.
Here are four of my favorite diffuser blends for romance:
2 Drops Lavender, 2 Drops Bergamot, and 1 Drop Ylang Ylang
This blend is a beautifully balanced combination of floral scents. Lavender unwinds the senses while bergamot boosts mood and eases anxiety. Ylang Ylang creates a relaxing atmosphere and is known for its aphrodisiac quality.
3 Drops Lavender, 1 Drop Clary Sage, and 1 Drop Ylang Ylang
Lavender mellows the intensely floral ylang ylang and the earthy clary sage in this blend. Clary sage is known as a balancing oil particularly for women’s health during hormone fluctuations. Combined with lavender and ylang ylang, all three oils create a peaceful atmosphere and reduce worry.
1 Drop Ylang Ylang, 2 Drops Sweet Orange, and 2 Drops Frankincense Serrata
In this combination, sweet orange balances the floral scent of ylang ylang and the earthy tone of frankincense serrata. Sweet orange is known for its uplifting quality, ylang ylang for its sensual ones, and frankincense serrata for its mind clearing properties.
1 Drop Clary Sage and 2 Drops Cedarwood
Cedarwood has a soothing woody scent that keeps the earthy and slightly floral quality of clary sage from being overpowering. Together they create a calm and positive atmosphere that can set the mood and balance emotions.
Synergy Blends:
Plant Therapy has a Sensual Synergy Essential Oil that combines floral scents like ylang ylang and lavender with woody oils like patchouli and balances them with sweet orange. I tried it out when I purchased their top 14 blends set. Unfortunately my nose seems to be very sensitive to patchouli so this blend hasn’t worked well for me.
