As you know from my May Reading Wrap Up, I have a bit of a love affair with Kindle Unlimited going on right now.
In addition to sharing book reviews of what I’m currently reading, I’ve been playing around with the idea of posting what I have checked out from KU with a What’s in My Kindle Unlimited Library feature.
This would be a regular post at the beginning of each month or more likely every other month, depending on how much I’m reading.
I’m hoping that will help me stay fresh with my selections! I’ll either read them or return them for something else that peaks my interest.
What’s in My Kindle Unlimited Library this June:
Here are the 20 books I’m starting out June with in my Kindle Unlimited Library. They’re listed from the ones I’ve had checked out the longest to the most recent.
Ignite by Melanie Harlow
I checked this one out thanks to Jenn at The Book Refuge. I have been wanting to read Melanie Harlow. Hopefully this is a good place to begin. All I know it’s the first in a spin off series of hers and features a single dad and a small town.
That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon by Kimberly Lemming
I’ve had this book checked out for months after hearing great things. I didn’t want to return it because it was unavailable on KU for quite awhile after the author was picked up by a traditional publisher. I didn’t want to lose access to it.
Side note: The ins and outs of that still confuse me because other authors who are being traditionally published are still thankfully available on KU.
I still want to read this. I also love that it’s less than 200 pages! Very different from the current trend that seems to be happening with super long romances.
Teach Me by L.L. Ash
I checked this out purely based on another recommendation video from The Book Refuge. The trope of teacher/student romance would be a new one for me.
I believe I recall Jenn saying the female main character is like a graduate student (maybe more of a TA) so the age gap isn’t as extreme as some other stories. It might be an easier entry point to this trope.
The Gargoyle’s Captive by Katee Robert
This is the latest book in Katee Robert’s Deal with a Demon series. We’ll see if I get to it. I enjoyed the first book, The Dragon’s Bride (4 stars).
These are short reads but I have to be in the right mood. There isn’t a lot of plot going on with these and I’ve wished for more world building and development in past books.
One Hot Italian Summer by Karina Halle
I want to try another book from Karina Halle after Lovewrecked (2.5 stars) didn’t really work for me. This one seems to be loved by many. Plus “summer” is literally in the title so what better time to check it out!
Indigo Ridge by Devney Perry
This is the June pick for A Dose of Romance Book Club. I was so excited to find some KU books as Fable book club options!
This will be my first Devney Perry. I’m intrigued by the romantic suspense element and the small town setting in Montana.
The Right Move by Liz Tomforde
Even though I didn’t love Mile High (3 stars) – my unpopular opinion is it was way too long! – I’m curious about this couple. Ryan and Indy were introduced in the first book.
Many of the reviews say this one is superior. And at least it’s 70 pages shorter!
A Kiss for a Kiss by Helena Hunting
Helena Hunting is a trusted author for me! This is the fourth book in her hockey romance series, All In, which I have loved. As of this posting the other books in the series are also available on KU with the read and listen for free feature.
Other books I’ve read and loved from Helena Hunting are Meet Cute (4 stars), the entire Pucked hockey series, and Kiss My Cupcake (4.5 stars) – which was actually last month’s Dose of Romance Book Club pick.
Vacation Wars by Meghan Quinn
Last month I tried That Second Chance (3.5 stars) from Meghan Quinn and I’d like to read more from her. She seems to be the original queen of KU romances! I love that this is a read and listen for free book. I believe the heroine is also an author.
Off to the Races by Elsie Silver
This is the first book in Elsie Silver’s Gold Rush Ranch series. After falling in love with her Chestnut Springs series, I can’t wait to start this one!
Speaking of Elsie Silver – whatever book I’ve already read will immediately be switched out for Reckless when it releases in June! That’s the fourth book in the Chestnut Springs series.
Having the Barbarian’s Baby by Ruby Dixon
I read a big chunk of the Ice Planet Barbarians series last month. I want to catch up on the short stories and novellas I missed before continuing with the full length books.
Close Quarters by Kandi Steiner
This one was recommended everywhere for a summer read. I know it involves sailing on a billionaire’s yacht.
I have also heard there’s cheating in this which make me a little nervous on whether it’s for me. But I’m trying things outside my comfort zone so why not! That’s one of the great thing about Kindle Unlimited.
Blame it on the Tequila by Fiona Cole
I would be jumping into a second book in the series with this one. But it’s supposedly amazing! I saw it on a recommendation video from Jessica at Peacelovebooksxo.
At one point the couple were step-siblings so they have a past. He’s now a rock star and finds her again via Instagram live. She actually helped write some songs with him in their past and winds up going on tour so there’s forced proximity too.
Toxic Desire by Robin Lovett
I first heard about this one on the Fated Mates podcast when one of the hosts was talking about a series that takes place on an aphrodisiac planet! It came onto my radar again when Averie from Ava’s Romance Books recommended it. I know it’s also enemies to lovers and I believe a survival plot too.
Lauren’s Barbarian by Ruby Dixon
This is the first book in Ruby Dixon’s Icehome series. I thought it was a spin off of Ice Planet Barbarians but the first several books are actually interwoven.
I wish I had read this one and the following two books before reading Barbarian’s Beloved at the end of last month. It probably would have made a lot more sense.
Captive of the Horde King by Zoey Draven
Another alien romance series that was recommended by Ava’s Romance Books. It’s described as a barbarian planet with Dothraki type aliens. Sign me up! I’ll just be picturing Jason Momoa as the hero ?
Breakaway by Grace Reilly
I needed another hockey romance!
Watt and Bothered by Fiona Davenport
This is the first book in the Monster Between the Sheets series featuring paranormal romances with each book written by a different author.
It was recommended by my friend, Corinne, who enjoyed some of the books but DNF’d others. This first book was fun but not a favorite. She thought the series was a great way to sample new paranormal authors and she loved that all of the books are under 200 pages!
A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor by Kathryn Moon
I’ve heard a lot of great reviews for this one. The tropes are a little out there for me – why choose or reverse harem – but hearing how sweet and well-written the story is has me curious!
Ivan by Sophie Lark
I’m not usually drawn to mafia romances but after hearing about this one a lot, the premise (she’s a killer for hire and he’s her target) intrigued me. Plus if I like it, Sophie Lark has a large backlist to dig into!

This is a good idea, I’m notorious for borrowing a bunch of books but then forgetting why I did and never reading or returning them! I’ll have to check some of these out!
It’s so easy to forget! Can’t wait to hear what you think if you get to them ?
